Hello.

I’m Bea, a birth and postnatal doula based in Crowborough, where I live with my husband and two children.

I believe every woman deserves an empowering birth

A birth that makes them proud of their body and confident as a mother – to have a positive birth story whether that’s an elective caesarean or a drug free water birth at home, whether it goes to plan or not you can come away with memories to cherish if you are informed, heard and validated.

Those precious early days and weeks, the fourth trimester, are moments to be treasured – you need support to create and protect that newborn bubble, to ease the transition to new motherhood (the first, second, third or subsequent time) and make the most of that special time.

My Story.

As a child I was always obsessed with babies, I dreamed of being a nurse (like my mum) or a midwife. I had that desire to look after others and I couldn’t wait to have my own family.

I veered off course slightly and studied sociology at the University of Bristol, falling into a career in PR and spending 10 years in the industry - I had a lot of fun, but it wasn’t my calling.

A few years after getting married we started ‘trying’. I fell pregnant quickly, but it ended in miscarriage at 12 weeks. The day I heard, “I’m sorry, there’s no heartbeat” was a turning point, marking the start of 18 months of pain and loss, but teaching me strength and resilience, making me realise that my job was not compatible with motherhood and rekindling that childhood desire to work in a nurturing profession.

My 4th pregnancy was my daughter - she healed me, empowered me and taught me respect for my mind and body. I fell pregnant with my son just 8 months after her birth, and he cemented my awe for all things pregnancy, birth and babies.

With the space to reconsider my career I started reading about doulas, and had that lightbulb moment - This is what I want to do.

I have not looked back, I LOVE what I do - it is truly an honour to share these moments with the families that I work with.
